Job Summary

The Department of Biology at the University of San Francisco invites applications for an Assistant Professor position to begin Fall 2018. This full-time, non-tenure track (term) position has the possibility for renewal with a contract extension and promotional track after the first year. The Biology Department is particularly interested in finding a candidate to teach Neurobiology, but candidates from all backgrounds in biology will be considered.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to teach General Biology and other foundational courses such as Cell Physiology or Genetics, or courses in the Nursing curriculum such as Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, or Microbiology. In addition, the candidate will be expected to teach upper division courses related to their areas of expertise and engage in service to the department and college. The successful candidate will not run an independent research lab, and additional teaching responsibilities may replace service expectations during the first two years.

Requirements

Applicants should have an earned Ph.D. in Biology or a related field by August 2018. A strong record of teaching at the university level and an understanding of and commitment to support the mission of the University of San Francisco are required.
